September 20, 2006Swedish "heavy doom progressive" metallers MORGANA LEFAY recently entered Soundcreation studio in Bollnäs, Sweden to begin recording the follow-up to 2005's "Grand Materia", tentatively due in late 2006/early 2007 via Black Mark Records. According to a posting on the band's web site, "The basic guitars were finished" and "we started our quest for the perfect mean, but still fat bass sound." MORGANA LEFAY recently announced the addition of drummer Pelle Åkerlind (LEDNOTE, ROCK TOOLS) to the group's ranks. The band's latest album, "Grand Materia", was a concept CD about Nicholas Flamel, a 14th-century alchemist who supposedly lived on forever.
MORGANA LEFAY performed at the Chicago Powerfest 2006 in early April at Mr. Kelley's Music Box in Chicago Heights, IL.
